The Chief Warden’s Office had earlier put up a notice on this website stating that all Ph.D scholars who complete five years on June 30, 2017 will need to vacate their respective hostels. This is to clarify that the administration has decided to allow Ph.D scholars to stay until completion of six years (5+1 years) in the hostels.
However, those who have completed six years will need to vacate the hostel subject to the decision taken by a committee that is meeting on June 27, 2017. This is also subject to the condition that Ph.D scholars have submitted a representation stating reasons as to why they need to continue in the hostels, with an endorsement/ recommendation from the supervisor. The rooms of students who do not represent by June 27, 2017 will be opened and their belongings stored in a separate room.
This is also to clarify that M.Phil students who complete two years of stay in the hostels will need to vacate by June 30, 2017, failing which the administration reserves the right to take appropriate measures. A separate notice to this effect has been published on this website.
